background

I am working as an engineer in market operations at PJM Interconnection, L. L. C (Pennsylvania-Jersey-Maryland). PJM is a Regional Transmission Operator (R.T.O), operating the largest electrical market in the United States. PJM is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the electric system in the five north eastern states and the district of Columbia. Its primary responsibility is to ensure reliable supply of energy from generation resources to wholesale customers. My job responsibilities include running the day ahead energy market for the north eastern United States, power system analysis, load forecasting, economic dispatch of units, reliable transmission system operation and congestion management.

I graduated from MSU, department of ECE in spring 2002. My specialization was in semiconductors specifically in chip fabrication. I also worked part time as a research engineer at the Mississippi Center for Advanced Semiconductor Prototyping, a university based lab leading research in the field of design and development of active devices on Si and SiC.

At MCASP, I was responsible for the development of photo process being used in various commercial lots. I also worked as a process engineer for the Schottky Diode lot for MicroSemi Corp. My research focused on the  development of photoresist on SiC and its use as an etch mask in plasma etching of SiC. The research is funded by the Ballistic Missile Defence Organization under the guidance of Dr. Jeff Casady of MSU.

My schooling was from Kendriya Vidyalaya a school organization under the govt of India located in the cyber city of Hyderabad, India. This was followed by my undergraduation from MANGALORE UNIVERSITY  located in the beautiful  south west coast city of Mangalore, India. My degree was in electrical and electronics engineering with specialization in power systems. In summer of 1997, I  took up internship with B. H. E. L, the largest engineering enterprise in India with diverse interest ranging from nuclear power stations to telecommunications. After my undergraduation, I worked as a marketing executive for TATA ELXSI providing system integration solutions. Tata Elxsi is part of the largest private industrial conglomerate in India, the TATA group.

In fall 99', I joined the Mississippi State University. I have worked in different capacities on campus from being the database administrator of the sports complex to being the advisor to the director of project RESPONSE (under the USDOE). In my second semester I was offered a co-op opportunity with Fujitsu and a research position with MCASP. I have also been actively involved in campus activities. I am the founding president for the bulldog toastmasters club, involved in improving communication and leadership skills. I am also member of engineering student council and alpha theta chi (a collegiate honor society).
